World Oceans Day 2018 – “Preventing Plastic Pollution and Encouraging Solutions for a Healthy Ocean.”

June 8, 2018 – Envirotech Education was invited to participate in the 19th International Virtual Educa and World Bank Global Education and Innovation Forum held in Salvador-Bahia, Brazil.

Envirotech presented in the event and took part as a panelist for World Bank’s Blue Economy Project. Also known as the “Think Blue Initiative”, the project brings public and private institutions, and civil society to work together on “Innovation in Ocean Education”. Think Blue is the first-of-its-kind “edu-tech” portal that promotes ocean education through partnerships and collaborations among organizations.

Envirotech also received a recognition and was awarded with a signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which was the only one signed during the event, for its participation in the Blue Economy.

The forum, which focused on global education reform targeting indigenous developing coastal communities, was hosted by the government of Bahia in partnership with the General Secretariat of Virtual Educa and was funded by the World Bank.

The forum was an outstanding opportunity to endorse the validity of our extensive efforts with this VET reform and its financial viability to any coastal community as part of a sustainable blue economy.
